IMT Trainee Opportunity

The IMTA is pleased to invite applications for Trainee assignments with the Pierce County Incident Management Team (IMT), which will oversee the 2026 Symposium in Tacoma, WA. This assignment offers valuable opportunities to gain practical event planning experience and complete tasks from your Position Task Book. Additionally, selected trainees will receive a $50 discount on their Symposium registration fee.


Expectations:

  • Trainees are required to participate in regularly scheduled advance planning meetings virtually prior to the Symposium.
  • During the Symposium, trainees must fulfill the responsibilities of their assigned position for at least three hours per operational period, over a minimum of two operational periods. These requirements may be met during the Symposium itself, the preceding Symposium Academy, or both.
  • All tasks performed will be evaluated and signed off by a qualified IMT member; however, this will not constitute final completion of the Position Task Book.


Pre-Requisites:

  • Completion of ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800.
  • Successful completion of the Position Specific Course for the relevant position.
  • Possession of an open Position Task Book for the targeted position.


Application Process:

2. Upload copies of your Position Specific Course certificate and Position Task Book.
3. Applications will be reviewed by the IMTA, with preference given to current IMTA members.
4. Notification of selection and instructions to obtain the discounted Symposium registration coupon code will be sent via email.
