Effective Team Command and Coordination for IMT Leaders
This two-day workshop, hosted by the Palmetto Incident Support Team, is designed for leaders of incident management teams who are looking to enhance their skills in orchestrating complex response efforts, as well as gain understanding of best practices with regard to the business management of a team. Join us for this unique opportunity to expand your knowledge, refine your leadership approach, and connect with other IMT leaders. This workshop includes a field trip to the State Emergency Operations Center (transportation provided, ID required). Workshop topics include, but are not limited to: · Commander’s Intent: Explore methods for defining and communicating a clear vision, mission and leader’s intent, along with actionable objectives, ensuring alignment and unity of effort across all levels of response. · Team Administrative Management: Learn best practices for organizing, motivating, and managing team personnel effectively, as well as a discussion on position task books and other required documentation. · Reimbursement: Gain an in-depth understanding of financial tracking, documentation, and reimbursement requirements critical for cost recovery and accountability. · Scaling Response Efforts: Discuss strategies for effectively scaling an incident from a local level to a coordinated federal response and back, and managing the complexities involved in these transitions. · EOC Relations: Enhance collaboration with Emergency Operations Centers to streamline communication, resource allocation, and response efforts. |

The course provides why, when, where and how Area Command is established, and the organization, facilities, communications required and demobilization process under an Area Command organization. It also covers the organizational relationships between Area Command and incidents, and between an Area Command and jurisdictional authorities. |

S-236 Staging Area Manager
This course is intended to enhance and exercise the student’s knowledge of NIMS and ICS as it pertains to performing the numerous duties of the STAM throughout a response. This course provides government, private industry, and emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective STAM. |

DIVS Division/Group Supervisor (NWCG)
The Division/Group Supervisor implements their assigned portion of the Incident Action Plan and is responsible for all operations conducted in the division/group, on wildland fire incidents. The DIVS supervises assigned resources and reports to an Operation Sections Chief or other assigned supervisor. The DIVS works in the Operations functional area. |

A review panel confirms submitted applications & supporting documents, then formal acceptance will be sent by May 22, 2025.
Cancellation Policy: Registration cancellations will be accepted in writing until May 8, 2025. A $50 administrative fee will be deducted. No refunds will be given if cancellation notice is received after May 8, 2025.
Lodging: S.C. State Fire campus, single-occupancy lodging is offered in the dormitory, first come, first served at a rate of $55/night. Bedding and towels are provided. (select the nights you need on the registration form) | Meals: $20 for each day. All students attending this event will be responsible for paying for their daily breakfast/lunch in the campus cafeteria. Dinner is on your own. | Airport: Closest airport is Columbia International Airport (CAE). Transportation: Palmetto IST is willing to provide airport pick up/drop off for attendees staying on the State Fire campus and to shuttle back/forth from the partner hotel, so they can avoid renting a car. |
